A very warm welcome to St Anthony’s Primary School — a place where every child is encouraged to grow, thrive and shine.

At the heart of our school community are our core values:
Bravery, Creativity, Honesty, Kindness and Resilience.
These values shape everything we do, from the classroom to the playground, helping our children develop not only as learners, but as confident, caring individuals.
We are proud of our shared vision:
Be Ready. Be Respectful. Be Safe.
These simple but powerful principles guide our daily life in school and support our pupils in becoming responsible, positive members of our community.

At St Anthony’s, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. We encourage our pupils to be brave in their learning, creative in their thinking, honest in their actions, kind in their relationships, and resilient when faced with challenges.
We believe that strong partnerships between school, families and the wider community are key to success, and we look forward to working together to give every child the very best experience.
Thank you for being part of our St Anthony’s family.

Transitions -  What can you do to help?

Be prepared -  It is useful for adults to emotionally prepare themselves for the "transition storm" that is about to begin. Put your seatbelt on and hold tight. The child needs you to be grounded.
Name it to tame it - Help the child to see the storm coming too. Say "the end of nursery/school year/primary school can be tricky, I'm here to help you through it."
Be crystal clear -  tell the children things they need to hear, don't wait for them to ask you because they don't know what they need.
Help their body -  Children feel fear in their body. Help them to calm their fears.
Stay connected -  Use "transitional objects" to let them know that you are connected, even when apart.

Remember that transitions are temporary. The transitional storm will come and it will go. Stick it out together and it will soon be over.
